Anne Marie 'Helen' Simmons, 83     WELLS- Anne Marie 'Helen' Simmons, 83 years, of Pennacook Circle, died Friday, Feb.15 at Bradford Court in Kennebunk.     Helen was born July 26, 1924 in Waltham, Mass., one of eight children of Leo and Margaret (MacKinnon) Ballou. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Waltham and earned her associate's degree in Boston. Although Helen worked as an executive secretary for many years, she felt that her greatest accomplishment was being a mother and homemaker. Helen just loved being a mom. She enjoyed time spent with her children and as the years passed, her grandchildren.     Helen also enjoyed travel, reading, the ocean, music, and the arts. She enjoyed volunteering to help others and was active delivering meals for Meals on Wheels, driving her elderly neighbors to their appointments when needed, and helping out at Urgent Care. She was active in her church and sang in the choir at St. Mary's Church in Wells as well as being a member of Sodality.     Helen was predeceased by her son, John J. Elden, and her sister, Irene Reardon.     She is survived by her loving husband, Sidney Simmons; her children, Anne Marie Appleton of Nashua, N.H., Ned Simmons of Harpswell, Judith Lumbert of Billerica, Mass., Jane Saulnier of Wells, David Simmons of Lynn, Mass., Marilyn Neary of Plaistow, N.H., Patricia Breitmaier of Ayer, Mass., and David Elden of Concord, Mass.; her brothers, Joseph Ballou, Leo Ballou, Frank Ballou, Donald Ballou, and Phillip Ballou, her sister Marilyn Ballou; 15 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.     Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20 from 6-8 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. at Holy Spirit Parish at St. Mary's Church on Eldridge Road in Wells.
