A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton, PA. She was a member of the Forty Fort Class of '48. She spent innumerable hours researching the subject, and retraced the steps of her ancestors back to mid-nineteenth century Ireland. A kindred spirit with those distant relatives, Anne was blessed with the feistiness and passion for which the “Fighting Irish” are acclaimed. Anne is survived by her husband, Harold, of Orange Park, FL; her sister, Linda, of Greensboro, NC; her daughters, Kathleen and Maureen, of Washington, DC, and Greensboro, NC, respectively; by her son, Thomas, of Greensboro, NC; and by her five grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Andrew, Patrick, and Rachael. The Anderson family would like to express its profound gratitude to Mary Shirai, who, in Anne's final years, provided immeasurable comfort, assistance, and companionship. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veterinary School (Oncology Dept.) at NC State University in Raleigh.
