January 2, 2006 Alice C. Ryan, 91, Drake Avenue, Oneida, died Monday evening, January 2, 2006, at her residence, following an illness of the past few months. Born in Syracuse, on February 19, 1914, she was the daughter of William and Mary Gorman Cross. A resident of Oneida for the past 63 years, Mrs. Ryan was a graduate of St. Lucy's Academy and Crouse Irving Hospital, School of Nursing. She married Frank W. Ryan in Syracuse on April 29, 1938. Mr. Ryan died on September 27, 2001. Mrs. Ryan was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and a member of the church's Altar-Rosary Society, a member for over 60 years of Catholic Daughters of America, Court Our Lady 1250, a member of Kanon Valley Country Club and Seven Oaks Golf Club, past president of St. Patrick's School Mothers Club, and a member of the Wednesday Afternoon Bowling League. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Donald F. and Carol Ryan of Oneida; one daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Douglas Taber of Syracuse; six grandchildren, Elizabeth (Kevin) Mc Inerney of Syracuse, Peter (Kelley) Ryan of North Bay, Amy (Thomas) Mitchell of Canastota, Carey (Timothy) Patton of Cleveland, Ohio, Joseph Hawelka of Syracuse, and Daniel Ryan of Oneida; three great-grandchildren, Katherine Mc Inerney, Mollie Mc Inerney and Quinn Patton; two brothers-in-law, Robert Ryan of Fayetteville and Andrew and his wife Elizabeth Ryan of Rome; one sister-in-law, Anneliese Cross of Orlando, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Katy Hawelka in 1986, and a brother, William Cross. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida, and 10:30 a.m. from St. Patrick's Church, where the funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Reverends David Orzel, pastor, and William Mesmer, former pastor. Spring interment will be made in St. James Cemetery, Cazenovia. Friends may call at the funeral home 3 to 7 p.m. Friday.
