Obituary of Alice-C. Carlton


Carlton, Alice C. LATHAM Alice C. Carlton, 86, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2013 at Our Lady of Hope Residence in Latham. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Alice Margaret (Mahar) Carlton. Ms. Carlton was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools, graduating from the Cathedral Academy in 1945. She worked in the tax department at Fleet Bank for over 14 years, retiring in 1991. Ms. Carlton was a former resident of Central Ave., Albany, and served as a lector at Our Lady of Hope. In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Carlton; and her dear friend, Howie Alexander. Survivors include her cousin, Peter Mason and his wife Terry; and dear friends, Rose Kostek and Maggie Lydecker. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 31, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Residence, 1 Jeanne Jugan Ln., Latham. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Calling hours will take place today, Monday 4 to 6 p.m. at Our Lady of Hope. Memorial contributions in Alice's memory may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1 Jeanne Jugan Ln., Latham, NY 12110.
