ALBANY Alan M. Davis, 78, longtime Albany businessman, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away June 19, 2006 after a long illness. Mr. Davis, longtime executive with RTA Distributors in Albany, N.Y. and Shelbourne Distributors in Wilkes Barre, Pa., was born in Syracuse, grew up in Troy and resided in Niskayuna for the past 18 years. Mr. Davis was the son of the late Rachel and Eugene Jay Davis. He married Dolores (Dee) (Halstead) Allen in 1971. They would have marked their 35 wedding anniversary in July. Together, they raised four children to adulthood and doted on five grandchildren. Mr. Davis is survived by his loving wife Dee; daughters, Cynthia (Charles) Novotny of Newburyport, Mass. and T. Christine Allen of Malden, Mass.; and sons, William F. Allen of Albany, N.Y. and Andrew J. (Camille) Allen of Loudonville, N.Y. He is also survived by his adored grandchildren, Gloria Lamb, Stefanie, Philip and Rachel Allen and Christopher Novotny. He also leaves behind his sister, Mildred (Marvin) Elfenbein of Fla.; and his nieces, Carol (Stuart) Morris and Roberta (Marc) Adel, also of Fla.; and several grandnieces, nephews and cousins. Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave. on Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Beth Emeth Tephilah Cemetery, Troy, N.Y.
