SKINNER, Agnes (nee Jean) 2009-02-03 Mrs. Agnes Skinner (nee Jean), age 95 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2009 in hospital. Agnes was born on November 9, 1913 in St. Fabien, Quebec and moved to Touchwood, Saskatchewan in 1927. She married C.W. “Buster” Skinner in April of 1932 and in 1940 they moved to Port Arthur. She worked at the LPH, and then at the Port Arthur District Jail as a Matron, retiring in 1975 after twenty years of service. Agnes was the sixth of seventeen children. She is survived by her son Dennis (Paula) Skinner; daughters Georgina “Duddy” (John) Penko, Paulette (Murray) Gordon of Terrace Bay and Valentine Skinner; twenty grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; sisters Gabrielle (George) Parker and Madeline (Ernie) Belisle of Calgary and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Predeceased by her husband Buster in July of 1958; daughter Jean Sharp; sons Lionel in infancy and George “Butch” and granddaughter Bonnie-Lu Gordon. Funeral services for the late Mrs. Agnes Skinner will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 11:00 AM in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church with Father Richard Kowalchuk officiating.
