WILLIAMS, Adeline "Addie " Margaret Died Dec. 27, 2006. The family of Adeline "Addie " Williams (nee Clatworthy), is sad to announce the passing of their mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, December 27 at Beckley Farm Lodge at Gorge Hospital, three years after her beloved husband, Leslie. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Beckley Farm Lodge for the kindness and care given to Addie in the ten months she was with them. Many thanks also to Dr. Ted Rosenberg. Addie was born in Victoria on June 19, 1920, daughter of Saanich pioneers, Alf and Bessie Clatworthy, who had emigrated from Devonshire, England in 1913, and established Hendersyde Dairy. The dairy, pastures, and corrals of the farm were bounded by McBriar Avenue, Tuxedo Drive, Ambassador Avenue, Morris Drive, and now Clatworthy Drive. Addie lived in this area all her life, moving from 971 Ambassador in 1946, when she and Les and children moved across the street to 981 McBriar Avenue, where she lived for 60 years. She retained lifelong friends from her childhood and from the Victoria Girls Drill Team. Les was a member of the Saanich Kiwanis Club for many years, and the family appreciates the friendship and support to Addie after Les' death. Addie was a good friend, and eager to contribute to her community. In her younger years, she delivered meals for Meals On Wheels, and volunteered at the Saanich Silver Threads. After raising her four children, she kept busy sewing, crocheting, and doing other crafts. In the last few years, she was able to attend many programs at the same center, and her family is grateful to the people there for their support. She loved gardening, especially when Les was able to do it, too. Addie and Les met at a dance in 1939, and married in 1941. They danced all through their life together ~ square dancing, round dancing, ballroom dancing, and for many years, Old Tyme Dancing, mainly at James Bay New Horizons. Addie couldn't sit still if there was good music playing. Addie leaves a large family, sons David of Cobble Hill, Brian of Victoria, Bob of Victoria, whose wife Susan was a wonderful daughter-inlaw; daughter, Bonnie of Kelowna. Also grandchildren, Michael, Kevin and Jordan of Victoria, Wendy (Rick) Jaenicke of Kelowna, Chris (Cathy) Addison of Salmon Arm; greatgrandchildren, Ryan, Kelly, Lauren Jaenicke of Kelowna, Ella and Lewis Addison of Salmon Arm; other relatives in Victoria and the Okanagan. The family invites friends and neighbours to celebrate Addie's life, at the service and reception, Saturday, January, 13, 10 am, at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 4725 Falaise Dr. 327528
