-><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Vernon Frank FrederickGardiner - Gardiner, NYVernon Frank Frederick, age 82, of Gardiner, NY, passed away early Monday morning, September 30, 2013, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, NY, with his daughter, son, and niece by his side..Born on November 10, 1930, in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of David and Mae (Hasbrouck) Frederick. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was employed by JC Paper Company, as a tractor trailer driver. He later retired from Shoprite, Middletown, NY, where he was a driver. He drove part time as a delivery person for NAPA Auto Parts, Poughkeepsie, NY.Anyone who knew Vernon knew he was a NASCAR FAN. His drivers were Rusty Wallace and Kyle Busch. Surviving are a son, Kevin D. Frederick of Gardiner, NY, daughter & son-in-law, Joanne & husband Matthew Badger of Hyde Park, NY; step-daughter, Helene &husband George Jones of Watertown, NY; sister, Catherine Cuba of West Park, NY, grandchildren, Derek Frederick of Columbia County, NY; Stephanie Frederick of Albany, NY; Shannon Frederick of Madison, AL; Jennifer Jones of NC; Erik Badger of Hyde Park, NY; Bryan & his wife Jessica Badger of Hyde Park, NY; Heather Badger & Rob Jordan of Albany, NY; Katelyn Badger of Albany, NY; great grandson, Ayden Badger of Hyde Park, NY. He is also survived by his close friends including, Jack Haverty, co workers, Larry, Strat, Scotty, Brian, Scott, and Jake the dog.Vernon was predeceased by a daughter, Jacqualine and her children, Tony, Bobby, and Nicholas, who perished in a fire in 1990. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Alice, Verlie and Joan, and two brothers, William and Russell. Cremation already took place at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 4-7pm at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 162 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, NY. Burial will follow in the family plot at Highland Cemetery at a later date.
