SNYDER Barry Alan Snyder, age 55, of St. Augustine, received the ultimate healing on October 3, 2010 at the Earl B. Hadlow Center in Jacksonville, and entered into eternal life. Born and raised in Jackson, Michigan, Barry had moved to St. Augustine thirty years ago. He worked at Hydro Aluminum for 28 of those years and was a longtime member of Shores United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher. He had also been previously active at St. Lukes Community Church and Christ Church of Peace, both in Jacksonville, and at the First Methodist Church in Bunnell. He is survived by his domestic partner, Dr. Harvey Carr of St. Augustine; his parents, Robert and Janet Snyder of Holly Hill, FL; a brother, Craig Snyder and his wife Cindy, of Charlotte, MI; nephews, Rob Snyder of Charlotte, MI and Eric Snyder of Grand Rapids, MI; and his best friend, Marsha Pellicer of St. Augustine. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7th, at Shores United Methodist Church, with Dr. Tom Cullens, Rev. Lee Weaver and Rev. Marsha Brandt officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to: Shores United Methodist Church, c/o the Barry Snyder Memorial Fund, for the purpose of renovating the entrance of the church and creating a new welcome center at Shores United Methodist.
