WINCHENDON -- Robert J. Williams, 70, of 164 Lincoln Ave., formerly of Leominster, died Wednesday, March 15, in the Leo P. LaChance Center, Gardner. He was born in Leominster on Oct. 24, 1935, the son of the late Ernest and the late Victoria (Surette) Williams. Mr. Williams lived most of his life in Leominster, spending the last six years in Winchendon. He was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of the Teamsters Union in Worcester and former member of St. Cecelia’s Church. His hobbies included Bingo, fishing, wood working, NASCAR racing and enjoying time with his loving family. Mr. Williams leaves a son, Michael Williams of Winchendon; a daughter, Elaine Williams of Metairie, La.; two stepsons, John Harris of Leominster and David Harris of Loudon, N.H.; one brother, James Williams of Leominster; and four grandchildren, Christopher, Alexis, Ashley and Anthony Williams; and four step-grandchildren, D.J. Harris, Jacob Harris, Whitney Harris and Cera Harris. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Williams of Kenner, La., and two sisters, Eunice Williams and Joanne Williams, both of Leominster and one grandchild, Chantelle Williams of Metairie, La. WILLIAMS -- On March 15, Robert J. Williams, 70, of Winchendon. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 17, at 10 a.m. in M.A. Simard & Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster. Burial will be private. Calling hours are today from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
