Mary-Edith Lowe, née en 1919, conjointe de Ray Lowe, est décédée le 18 février 2014. Veuillez consulter son avis de décès ici:
Mary Edith Lowe October 2, 1919 - February 18, 2014 Mary passed away peacefully on February 18th at the Arbutus Extended Care Facility In Vancouver, B.C.She was born in Prince Rupert to Edith Marie Minty of Swansea, Wales and Alexander Charles Minty of Fife, Scotland. Mary had two older half-siblings who pre-deceased her: Marion Winton and Fred Minty.Mary will be dearly missed by her children, Joanne Kramer (Michel Guillosson) and Don Waroway (Leona Waroway) , her two beloved granddaughters, Julie Kramer (Tami Simon) of Boulder, Colorado, Lisa Kramer (Howard Yan) of North Vancouver as well as her two much loved great grandsons, Bruce and Eric Yan.Mary was celebrated for her warmth, kindness and generosity of spirit. A consummate 'people person', she befriended people wherever she went, which often made for quite lengthy trips to the grocery store and the post office! She often described herself as an 'eternal optimist', which was truly borne out by her unique capacity to overcome obstacles and uplift others with her caring presence and infectious sense of humour.Mary loved to travel and spent many happy times with her husband, Ray, Joanne, Lisa and Julie in some far-flung locales.....her personal favourite being Club Med in Eleuthera in the Bahamas. As well there were all of those RV trips with Ray, Joanne and the girls, not to mention those impromptu trips to Brussels where Joanne, Lisa and Julie were living. While her greatest love was her family, Mary cherished her relationships with people from every phase of her life: she remained a dedicated correspondent well into her elderhood and kept in close touch with loved ones around the world. Mary's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the exceptional staff at the Arbutus Extended Care Facility for providing her with a caring environment during the final two years of her life. We are also very grateful for the visits and phone calls she received from former neighbours, friends and extended family members which were a source of tremendous joy and support to her, especially during her latter years. There will be an informal drop-in gathering to commemorate Mary's life at The Conservatory, Brock House at 3875 Point Grey Road in Vancouver on Saturday March 29th from 1 to 4 pm. Mary's family would welcome the opportunity to share stories and pictures with family members and friends from her long, rich life. If you wish to make a donation in her memory, we gratefully invite you to choose an organization advocating for the wellbeing of dogs, as her love of dogs was tremendous!
