A Celebration of Life for Martha Elizabeth Smith, 81, of Anniston, will be from 4-6 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary. Mrs. Smith passed away on December 18, 2014 at Anniston RMC. Survivors include daughter, Jannette Griffin; sons, Michael A. Griffin and James R. Griffin; grandchildren, Erika Colon-Raphael, Franceska Colon-Briskey and Jan Michelle Griffin Sherbondy; great-grandchildren, Trevian Briskey, Mary K. Sherbondy, Roman Raphael, Aria Raphael, Tayegan Briskey, Nora E, Raphael and Gemma L. Sherbondy; sisters, Kathy Shultz and Nancy Smith. Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Smith; her parents, Ruby Woods and Joseph T. Chavers; sisters, Mary Connaway and Betty Becton. Mrs. Smith was a retired civil service secretary to the commanding officer at the MP School at Ft. McClellan. Everyone who knew her knows she was a wonderful and sweet lady and she will be greatly missed.
