The funeral service for Major and Mrs. John Mack Williams were in ST. PHILIPS EPISCOPAL CHURCH CHAPEL Monday, February 21, 2005 at eleven o'clock. Major Williams was born October 15, 1916 in Thomaston GA, son of John Ancil Williams and Ella Mae Devane Williams. Major Williams was a retired broadcaster and formerly owned a radio station in Savannah, GA. He was of the Presbyterian faith and was a member of the Ogelthorpe Club in Savannah, GA. Surviving are his wife, Betty B. Williams of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and a daughter, Missy Williams Haigh also of Mt. Pleasant, SC. A brother, Millard N. Williams of Savannah, GA and sister Willie Belle Adams, Thomaston, GA. Two grandchildren, Griffith and Peter Haigh. Major Williams was preceded in death by a son, J. Michael Williams.
