Gertrude Hill Williams Gertrude Hill Williams, 89, a retired midwife and child-care provider, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003. The service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday at St. Peter Primitive Baptist Church, with burial at St. Peter Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. EDT Friday at Strong & Jones Funeral Home chapel (224-2139).She was a lifelong resident of Tallahassee. She was a member of St. Peter Primitive Baptist Church, Indian Branch Pallbearer Lodge and Eastern Star. Survivors include five sons, the Rev. Herbert Williams Jr. (and wife Anna), Patrick Williams (and wife Vicki), John Williams (and wife Denise), Frank Williams (and wife Vet) and Ralph Williams (and wife Ava), all of Tallahassee; two daughters, Dorothy "Dot" Taylor of Tallahassee and Celia Stanley of Philadelphia, Pa.; a sister, Harrietta H. Jefferson of Tallahassee; a sister-in-law, Moilverle Hill of Atlanta; 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a host of adopted children, nieces, nephews and cousins.
