Funeral services for Mr. Elree Lewis Horton 85 will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday October 29 2004 at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Ted Gentle officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock TN. Military rites will be conducted at the grave site. Mr. Horton a retired rural Mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service died Tuesday October 26 2004 at Baptist East in Memphis TN. He was born on May 28 1919 in Lexington TN to the late O.C. Horton Sr. and Cora White Horton. He was a member of Bruceton Church of Christ World War II veteran Carroll County Commissioner for 18 years and served on the committee that secured a nursing home in Bruceton. He was also a member of Hollow Rock VFW Post 4349. He is survived by his daughters Ivey Elrod of Buena Vista TN Nancy Dorobiala of Huntingdon TN Kathy Horton of Collierville TN Becky Todd of Trezevant TN and Betty Baggett of Waverly TN; a sister Deloris Anderson of Paris TN; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
