Elizabeth J. Langer, 84, a resident of Vestal, NY and formerly of Peekskill and Buchanan, passed away January 12, 2011. She worked for many years as a teller at the Peekskill Savings Bank and the Chemical Bank, until she retired. Betty enjoyed many things like baking, knitting, reading and writing; and her daily activities at the Vestal Senior Center. Betty is survived by her two sons: Raymond (Theresa) Langer and Ronald (Agata) Langer. Her brother John Gruenwald and her five grandchildren also survive her. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Langer, Sr; her son Roger and her sister Gloria Barnes. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 17th from 2-6 pm at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home, Peekskill, where a funeral service will be held 5 pm. Interment will be private at a later date in Hillside Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
