WILLIAMS, CELIA B.Celia B. Williams age 95 of Bridgeport entered into eternal rest Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Ludlowe Center for Rehabilitation, Fairfield. Born in Tallahassee, FL to the late James and Mary Hill Barnes, Celia had been a resident of Bridgeport for sixty plus years. She was a former employee of the City of Bridgeport and the Bridgeport Diocese of the Catholic Church. Celia also spent many years as a private duty caregiver. Her spiritual needs were met as a disciple of Mt. Aery Baptist Church where she served as a former member of the A.V. Bass Choir. In addition to her parents, two husbands, Lymus Williams and Gilbert McKenzie, as well as a son Charles "Bubba" Barnes and a daughter Eunice Spencer predeceased her. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Barbara Wilson of Bridgeport; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren, twenty-three great-great grandchildren; two special nieces, Samantha Sims of Bridgeport and Ruby Myles of FL; a host of other nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2014, 11:00 AM at Mt. Aery Baptist Church, 73 Frank St., Bridgeport with Rev. Anthony L. Bennett, D.Min., Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Easton. Friends are invited to the viewing Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the church. See www.mortonsmortuary.com.
