Carl Floyd Cooper was born Nov. 2, 1930, in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Emory and Henry College in Emory, Va., and then immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. He worked at the Library of Congress for 42 years. He was a loving husband, devoted father and avid reader. He went to meet his Savior Nov. 23, 2012.He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marcia Cooper; daughter Missy DeLuca; son-in-law, Steve DeLuca; and granddaughters, Virginia, Maddie, and Lily. Byars Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
