Vera Mae Darby Armstrong, 86, widow of Arthur Frank Armstrong, formerly of Greenville, died Friday, February 8, 2008, at Magnolia's of Easley. Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Chapman Darby. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Dan Rawls of Piedmont; brothers, Hampton Darby of Belton, and Clinton Darby of Petersburg, Va.; sister, Elizabeth Willbanks of Aurora, Colo.; grandchildren, William Rawls and Katrina Worthen, both of Piedmont; and five great-granddaughters. She was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of Brenda and Dan Rawls, 332 Driftwood Drive, Piedmont, and will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
