HURLEY Theresa A. Hurley, age 76 of Stratford, entered into rest Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was born in Stratford, May 13, 1932, daughter of the late John and Mary (Gayda) Janovich and was a lifelong Stratford resident. She was a retired RN and worked for many years at the Jewish Home for the Elderly. Theresa was an avid reader and she enjoyed her vacations on the Cape. She also loved her dogs. Most of all, she was a devoted and caring mother and grandmother. She was the beloved mother of Mary Hurley, Maureen Mendillo, Robert Hurley, Jr. and his wife, Kathy, Tom Hurley and his wife, Laura and Beth Hurley and her husband, Eric Trent. She is also survived by two brothers, John and Robert Janovich; five sisters, Mary Argonese, Frances Beaumont, Eleanor Sullivan, Margaret Burel, and Elizabeth Sembiante; eight cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey and Tom Mendillo, Albert Keiser, III, Jennifer, Stephanie, and Rebecca Hurley, and Sean and Connor Hurley; her former husband, Robert Hurley; a special niece, Pat Prest and her husband, Jorgen; and several more nieces and nephews. Friends may greet the family in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. On Friday, her funeral ceremony will begin at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Mitchell Wanat officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice in lieu of flowers.
