TARA JEAN SMITH BURLINGTON - Tara Jean Smith, 36, died in Burlington surrounded by her loved ones on Feb. 1, 2012. She was born in Burlington on Jan. 31, 1976, daughter of the late Robert D. and Jill Ann (Gordon) Smith Sr. Tara graduated from BHS in 1994. In high school she loved to play basketball. She loved the outdoors, motorcycles, woodworking and construction. She is survived by her sons, Corey Gene and Justin Robert Franklin of Burlington; siblings, Tawnya Marie Smith of Burlington, Robert D. Smith II and his fiancee, Kimberly Reed, of Payne Springs, Texas, and Tamara Felton and her husband, Jon, of Puyallup, Wash.; her fiance, Dennis LaBerge of Winooski; grandparents, Robert Gordon Sr. and Mary Gordon of Vergennes; her former husband, Bernard "Ben" Franklin of Berkshire; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, in New Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. Arrangements are by Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Directors.
