Sandra Beth Clarkof Chelmsford, MA CHELMSFORD, MA -- Sandra Beth Clark died Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.Sandra was born in Concord on February 8, 1960, and grew up in Chelmsford. She married on May 19, 1983, and is survived by her beloved Dana C. Mercer. Sandra was a graduate of Chelmsford High School, Class of 1978, Middlesex Community College, Class of 1983, and University of Massachusetts, Lowell, Class of 1996 with a degree in Biology and Philosophy, Magna Cum Laude.Sandra worked in the clinical research industry for companies such as PAREXEL, and most recently for Harvard Clinical Research Institute in Boston for ten years where she held the position of Associate Director, Data Management. Sandra loved nature and especially watching the eagles out of the back window of her historic home overlooking the Merrimack River, as well as rescuing and lovingly caring for many cats of varying degrees of illnesses and needs. She was committed to fitness and health, and loved art, music, and antiques. Most especially, she loved time spent with family during holidays, birthdays, camping trips, hikes, and she regularly visited everyone.She loved her aunts, uncles, and cousins very much and reminisced often about times spent together. Her most outstanding qualities were her desire to share time with the people she loved and who loved her. She was compassionate, intelligent, committed, open, understanding, thoughtful, and had amazing courage and strength to overcome life's challenges. Her smile and presence always lit up the room, and she will forever light up a place in our hearts.In addition to Dana, she is survived by a son, Michael Breen-McKay; her mother and stepfather, Evelyn and Joe Cronin; her father and stepmother, Herbert and Penny Clark; her mother-in-law, True Gauvin; her sisters and their families: Catherine (Clark) and Jim Lake, nephews, Jason Galusha, Matthew and Andrew Lake; Sharyn (Clark) and Steve Castagno, nephew, Luca; Karen (Roy) and Scott King, nephew, Raymond Smith, and niece, Jeannette Wiley; Trina (Clark) Raith and Mat Jason, nieces, Madison Raith and Taylor Jason; her brothers and their families: David Roy and Cheryl Armstrong, nephew, Christopher Roy; John Roy, niece, Carin, and her mother, Tiffany Hickok; Christopher and Gina Roy, nephews and niece, Brian, Scott, Shannon, and John Petrie, Benjamin and Michael Roy and their mother, Roberta; Samuel Nicholas Napoli, nieces and nephews, Samantha, Reagan, Nicholas, and Derek and their mother, Carol; Michael Clark and Stacey MacWalter; her inlaws, Karen (Mercer) and Paul Thoman and children, Linda (Mercer) and David Hanna, and Brian Mercer. In addition, other immediate family members include Jane (Cronin) and Gregory Feroli and children, Katherine (Cronin) and Jack Graham and children.Sandra also leaves behind many dear family members, friends, doctors, nurses, and colleagues who were a great source of support and comfort of which the entire family is grateful.
