Ruby Faye Derrick 1919-2012 Ruby F. Derrick passed away at her home in Woodstock, NB on November 1, 2012 at the age of 93 years. Born at Canterbury, NB in 1919, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Alma (Smith) Graham. Ruby enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and especially knitting for her children, grandchildren and Cottage Craft in St. Andrews. She spent her earlier years working on their farm with her family and later helping her husband run their store in Canterbury. They retired and moved to Woodstock in 1979. Ruby is survived by two daughters, Laura Roussell (Bill), Canterbury, NB and Carolyn Derrick (Derek Davidson), Fredericton, NB; four sons, Ray Derrick (Arlene), Donald Derrick (Dorrine), Douglas Derrick (Gina), all of Woodstock, NB and Lawrence Derrick (Terriann), Nackawic, NB; fifteen grandchildren, Tom Roussell, Edmundston, NB, Juanita Ott (Lester), Edmonton, AB, Jeremy Roussell (Tina), Canterbury, NB, Vicky Ouellette (Claude), Dow Settlement, NB, Tracy Nixon (Garth), Hillsborough, NB, Susan Foster (Joshua), Woodstock, NB, Dale Derrrick (Anna), Israel, Tammy Hebditch (Peter), New Zealand, Jason Derrick, Nackawic, NB, Julie Derrick, Miramichi, NB, Joseph Derrick (Angela), Fredericton, NB; Timothy Davidson, Fredericton, NB, Andrea Davidson, Ottawa, ON, Geoffrey Davidson, Fredericton, NB and Steven Davidson, Fredericton, NB; sixteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ernest T. Derrick; a brother, Clifford Graham; sisters, Edith Wright and Elva Davis and grandson Michael Derrick. Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Monday morning, November 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Deborah Baker officiating. Interment at Canterbury Cemetery. Everyone is invited to attend a reception to follow at St. Mark’s United Church Fellowship Hall. Pallbearers will be Allison Smith, Wayne Smith, Paul Hamilton, grandsons Jeremy Roussell, Joseph Derrick and Steven Davidson. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Ruby, the family has suggested the Red Cross or Extra Mural. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Red Cross Workers and the Extra Mural Nurses for their kindness and support.
