->SOUTH CHINA -- Robert Vinton McKenna, 84, of Bradford Street passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at his home, with his family by his side.He was born in Richmond on Oct. 7, 1923, a son of Vinton James McKenna and Leona Flora Small McKenna.Robert served in the Navy Reserves during World War II. He enjoyed fishing, football and being with family and friends. He was especially fond of his grandson, Jeffrey.Robert was predeceased by his wife, Wanita Mae Morven McKenna, on Aug.19, 1994; two brothers, Kenneth and Roland McKenna; and a sister, Sue Moody.He is survived by three daughters, Donna Lee Allen Brochu and her husband, Paul, of Hallowell, Lynn Rae Collins and her companion, Ronald Neron, of Richmond, and Margo Lee McKenna Rooney and her husband, David, of Salem, N.H.; a stepdaughter, Linda Elizabeth Collins; four sons, Robert Frank Allen and his wife, Debby, of Sidney, Jeffrey Lance McKenna and his wife, Carol, of South China, Joseph Robin McKenna, of Winthrop, and James Vinton McKenna and his wife, Irina, of Jefferson; four brothers, Harold, Rodney, Larry and Steve, all of Maine; three sisters, Corinne, Beverly and Judy, all of Maine; 19 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.A family gathering will be held at the graveside at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Dresden.Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
