Robert L. Of Batavia, NY Age 54, died on Thursday, January 25, 2001 at the United Memorial Medical Center, Batavia, NY after a sudden illness. Mr. Smith was born December 8, 1946 in Elmira, NY, a son of Doris Gunderman Smith and the late William E. Smith, Jr., formerly of Elmira, NY. Surviving are his mother, Doris Smith; daughter, Michelle Cook of Venice, FL; brother, Thomas K. (Kathy) Smith; sister, Judith (Brian) Bailey, both of Attica, NY. Robert is also survived by his two grandsons, a nephew and great niece and nephews. It was Robert's request that there be no calling hours and a graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira, NY at the convenience of the family. Those wishing may make memorials to the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Olthof Funeral Home, Inc.
