Robert George McKenzie GreenfieldRobert George McKenzie, formerly of Hyspot Rd., Greenfield Center, NY, died at the Stratton VA Medical Center on May 3, 2013. He was 89 years old. Born on January 9, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late George McKenzie and Barbara Brady McKensie.Upon graduation from high school, Mr. McKenzie entered the U.S. Navy, and with the Navy he traveled around the world, TWICE. Mr. McKenzie worked for the U.S. Post Office as a postal carrier in the Town of Greenfield for over 30 years until his retirement in 1983. Robert was a member of the Tin Can Soldiers, which is part of the National Association for Destroyer Veterans. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 70 Saratoga Springs, NY. In his leisure he was an avid train collector. Survivors include his two daughters, Lisa McNulty of Texas, and Margaret McKenzie of Saratoga Springs, NY; a brother, John McKenzie of New York City, NY; a sister, Helen Burns of Colorado; a granddaughter, Tara Rois of Derider, LA; and four great-grandchildren, Hailey, James Robert, Damion and Kaitlin. He is also survived by his two dogs, Thelma and Milo. Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
