Maj. Robert George Davis, U.S. Air Force retired, made his final flight departing this life on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at the William F. Greene Veterans Home in Bay Minette, Ala. Born Oct. 9, 1931, in Sharon, Pa., "Bob" was preceded in death by his parents, Robert H. Davis and Marjorie Davis. He is survived by his former wife of 30 years, Leatrice (Lea) Davis; and their six children, Robert A. Davis, Debra Campbell, Brenda Moore, Janice Peterson, Brian K. Davis and Carol Reilly; along with 23 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Haydn, Alan and Barry Davis; and sister, Marilyn Metz. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 27, at 3 p.m. at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Crestview, Fla.
