Robbie Lee Parker, 82, died at her home Nov. 27, 2011, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.She was born Sept. 24, 1929, in Jacksonville, Fla., to the late Robert Singleton and Georgia Singleton Patterson. She grew up in New Rochelle, N.Y. where she graduated from New Rochelle High School. A long-time resident of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., she most recently lived in Plantsville. She worked in special education for the Yorktown Central School District for many years before transitioning to the Somers School District where she retired. She received many awards and accolades from both districts for her distinguished work. She cherished her friends and family.She is survived by four children, a daughter, Colette Fowlkes; a son and daughter-in-law, Maurice and Kim Parker; another daughter and son-in-law, Yvette and James Moore; and youngest son Andre Parker; 12 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren; a niece, Joni Lewis, of Atlanta; and nephew, Andrew Lewis, of New Castle, Del.Services were held privately and at the convenience of the family. Plantsville Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
