SIMMONS, Robert Michael, 75, of Shorter, diedOctober 27, 2009, at hishome. Funeral services willbe Friday, October 30, 2009,at 2:00 p.m. at CubahatchieBaptist Church. Rev. JoelJones and Rev. Larry Laynewill officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.Mr. Simmons is survived by hiswife Sally Jordan Simmons ofShorter, his sons David Andrew (Rose) Simmons ofMontgomery and MichaelJoseph (Teresa) Simmons ofMillbrook, his daughters JaneElizabeth Land of McCord,WA, and Beth Cassandra(Carl) Pyle of Anadarko, OK,his step-children Margaret(James) Love of Shorter, Monica Smith of Tallassee, andLewis Smith of Shorter, tengrandchildren and his sisterLynn Sickler of Southern Pines,NC. Mr. Simmons served inthe U.S. Air Force for 30 yearsand achieved the rank ofChief Master Sergeant. Healso has two children who retired from serving in the AirForce and has one child stillserving in the Air Force. Mr.Simmons then retired from theState Health Dept. after 10years of service there.
