LEMIEUX, Paul Mulligan January 23, 1924 - November 1, 2006 World War II Veteran RCAF 1948-1971 With his family by his side on Wednesday, November 1, 2006. Born January 23, 1924 in Maniwaki, Quebec. Son of the late Jean-Paul Lemieux and Aileen Mulligan. Predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret (Peggy) Meagher and his son David Paul Lemieux. Remembered by his daughters, Anne Thompson (Robert) of Trenton, Lise Lindia (Rudy) of Stittsville. Grandchildren Paul (Julie), Ross, Craig, Kristina, Peter and precious great-grandchild David. Brother of John (Lorraine) of Aylmer, Tom (Gervaise) of Grand-Remous, Quebec. Predeceased by sister Madeleine Simard and brother Ted. Paul served in the Canadian Army light armoured division 1941-1946 in the UK, Italy and Northwest Europe. Joined the RCAF in 1948 in pilot training, received his wings in 1949. Served with 426 (T) Squadron on Korean airlift until 1952. Served as an instructor of instrument flying school, Centralia, Ontario until 1954. Served with 412 (T) Squadron at Uplands until 1961. Served in Goose Bay, Labrador search and rescue flight until 1964. Then was posted to #1 Wing, Marville, France until 1967. Returned to Ottawa to A.E.T.E. until his retirement in 1971. Joined Quebec Air from 1971 1974 as Captain, finishing his flying career as a Transport Canada, air carrier inspector on the L-1011 until his retirement in 1986. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 585 Somerset St. W. (centretown) Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Monday to Saint Patrick's Basilica for Mass of Christian Funeral at 10 a.m. In memoriam donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute appreciated.
