Obituary3/17/1928 - 7/28/2008Pat Parker went peacefully to be with the Lord on July 28, 2008. she was born March 17, 1928 in Springfield, VT. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ray, her daughter and son-in-law, Debora and David White and her grandson, Parker White.When Pat was about 6 years old she moved with her family to Jacksonville Beach, Florida. She attended school there and worked after graduation, met and married her husband, Ray, in 1950. Their daughter, Debora was born in 1952. After a number of years traveling and living in numerous towns throughout the State of Florida, due to Ray's job with the Army Corps of Engineers, they made their permanent home in Fort Myers in 1955. Pat went to work for one of the major propane gas companies in Fort Myers. Even though the company changed names several times during her employ she continued her duties. When she left her job in 1995, she had almost 40 years of continuous service.During retirement she became actively involved as a volunteer for Lee Memorial HealthCare System Auxiliary. Within the last five years Pat had over 2000 hours of active service. She was involved with Life Line, Bright Ideas Gift Shop and many other volunteer functions. Pat was also a member of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and the 400 Club.Pat loved helping people. She loved her volunteer hours and she loved the people she worked with. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed and although she is no longer with us, the wonderful memories she left will be in our hearts forever.Those desiring may make donations to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, Florida 33908 in memory of Patricia Parker.Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation and Memorial Service at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Colonial Blvd. from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2008. Memorial Service begins at 3 p.m.
