Nelson P. Freeman, age 66, left to be with the Lord on Jan. 16, 2008. He was born on Dec. 4, 1941. Nelson served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 13 years. Nelson worked with his employer, Donnie Howell, at Coastal Lumber and Niceville Cash and Carry for 32 years. He was a member of the Church of God in Niceville, Fla. His passions included working in his shop and garden, fresh water fishing, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nelson is survived by his wife of 39 years, Elizabeth Freeman of Niceville; brother, Wilson Freeman (Barbara) of Houma, La.; six children Richard Francis (Jeni) of Niceville, Kenny Francis (Debra Kennedy) of Niceville, Deborah Maksymyk (John) of Fort Walton Beach, Randolph Francis of Niceville, Robert Francis (Wendy) of Niceville, and Christopher Francis (Dolly) of Crestview, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; and godchild, Nola of Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home in Niceville. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Jan. 18, at 3 p.m. at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Taylor officiating, with burial following the service.
