POUGHKEEPSIE Nancy A. Smith, 54, a 34-year resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at Wingate of Beacon. Born on November 29, 1951, she was the daughter of Valentine and the late June Stephens Ciupek of Altamont, N.Y. On June 3, 1972, she married Keith E. Smith, who survives at home. She was a graduate of Guilderland High School (Albany County) in 1969. Nancy worked for the N.Y.S. Department of Corrections in Albany and Beacon as a transcriptionist. Later, she worked for Hudson Valley Plastic Surgeons and Colon Business Services as a medical transcriptionist. In her spare time, she loved doing cross stitch and gardening. She is survived by her father, Valentine Ciupek of Albany; her husband, Keith Smith; a son, Gregg and his fiancee Elizabeth Frank of Poughkeepsie; a daughter, Casey, at home, and her fiance Eric Cook of Fishkill; a brother, John of Schenectady and his wife Sherry and their three daughters, Erin of Long Island, Amy and Allison of Schenectady; two aunts, Mary Walas and Nellie Ciupek of Voorheesville, N.Y. She was predeceased by her mother June in 1994; her aunt Anna and her uncle Frank. Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 25 at Delehanty Funeral Home, 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls. Services will be on Monday, June 26 at Delehanty Funeral Home at 11 a.m. followed by burial in the Wappingers Falls Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
