ALBANY Monica C. Martin, 78, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 1, 2004 at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y. Born in Wetumpka, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Daniel Webster Stephens and Jessie Mae Stephens. She settled in Albany and worked many years at Albany Medical Center. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Ann Johnson of Albany and Lee E. Smith of Rotterdam; son-in-law, Martin Smith of Rotterdam; two grandchildren, Stacey L. Jones and Derrick L. Johnson of Albany; two great-grandchildren, Jahmale Johnson and Jessica Johnson of Albany; first cousin, Augustus Jones (Edith) of Las Vegas, Nev.; second cousin, Crystal Jones of Albany; only surviving aunt, Ella Lee Russell of Titus, Ala.; and many relatives and friends. Funeral services Friday at 12:00 noon at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 58 Alexander St., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may call after 10:00 a.m. at the church Friday. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Memorial Park. Those wishing to remember Monica and her family in a special way may send contributions to the Building Fund at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
