WILLIAMS, Mildred Alberta In hospital with family by her side on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in her 92nd year. Survived by her two daughters: Mary Pace and Heather Williams. Grandmother of Munro, Andrew, Merala and Philip and great grandmother of Tyler and Quinn. She will be fondly remembered by her extended family and many friends. Mildred was a pioneer in the harness racing industry with more than 400 lifetime wins, and has been called the "first lady of harness racing". The Mildred Williams International Driving Series for licensed women drivers is named in her honour - further details available at www.mildredwilliams.ca .
