SMITH, Michael Thaler - 1938 - 2014 Retired longtime Head of English at Parkdale Collegiate in Toronto, died at home on October 13, 2014, after a brave battle with mesothelioma. Michael's passion for his many and varied interests and his devotion to family will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Julia (Bell), his children, Erin Cook (Desmond) and Craig (April Nicolle); grandchildren, Julianne, Jenna and Megan Cook and Jennie Nicolle-Smith; sister- in-law, Sheila Jack (John Dew) and brother-in-law, Rodney Bell (Barbara). Sincere thanks to the WSIB, CCAC and Princess Margaret Hospital for their tremendous support.
