Mary Owings Owens, 78, of 11 Brownwood Drive, died Sunday, May 22, 2005. Loving wife of Robert E. Owens Sr., she was born in Greenville, the daughter of the late Grover C. and Viola Dryman Owings. Mrs. Owens was owner of Mary's Antiques, retiring after 25 years, and she was a member of Oak Crest Baptist Church. Her husband served in the Navy, Army, and was a medical technician in the Air Force from 1948 until 1968. Surviving, in addition to her husband of 55 years, are daughter, Cathy Lynn Sherman of Richmond, Va.; two sons, Robert Ellison Owens Jr. and Dale C. Owens, both of Greenville; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family is at their respective homes. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, is in charge of arrangements.
