Mrs. Mary "Betty" McDowell, 81, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at Oakmont Nursing Center in Greenville, S.C. She was the wife of the late Edward L. McDowell and was previously a longtime resident of Camp Hill, Pa. Mrs. McDowell was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church and was a homemaker.Born on September 20, 1925, in Coaldale, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Kohler. She is survived by her two daughters, Debra Savageau of Frederick, Maryland, and her husband, Michael, of Easley, S.C., and Deidre Hughes and her husband, Jackie, of Greer, S.C.; her two grandchildren, Nicole Savageau of Philadelphia, Pa., and Justin Hughes of Greer, S.C.; and a sister, Martha Zeigler of Summit Hill, Pa.The family sincerely appreciates the wonderful care and love given to their beloved mother by the staff and nurses at Oakmont Nursing Center and would also like to thank Hospice of Greenville and Prince of Peace Catholic Church for their weekly visits.
