She is survived by her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jeff Davis of Flowery Branch, and Alisa and Tim Sexton of Gainesville; grandson, Noah Davis; brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Ginny Smith of Eustis, Fla.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Leon Swindle of Flowery Branch; nieces and nephews, Martha and Jerry Shell, Steve and Darlene Smith, Tom Swindle, Terry Swindle, Mark and Suzy Swindle; and great-nieces and nephews, Kevin and Amy Stowers, and Brandy Migliori. For many years she worked in her family's florist shops, Alene's Flower Shop and Rainbow Florist. Her later years of employment were spent as a sitter for a number of elderly people. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church where she spent countless hours loving little ones in the nursery. Many children, some of whom are adults now, have known the nurturing love of "Mama Mary." Wherever she was or whatever she did, her special gift of loving and caring for children and senior adults was evident. There is also no question about how she loved and was devoted to her family. Until their deaths, she cared for both of her parents, her brother and her husband of 59 years – the love of her life. Her two daughters and their husbands, along with her grandson, have known the true meaning of unconditional love through their relationship with her. Her immediate or extended family as well as her friends knew she was always there for them when needed, selflessly loving and giving. She will be missed by so many and has left a lasting and loving impression on more people than she could ever have imagined. May we who are left carry on the awesome legacy of love you have left for us. Those wishing to make online condolences may do so at www.mason ward.com.Mason & Ward Funeral Home, Gainesville
