Mrs. Mary Jean Mosley - LYONS - Mrs. Mary Jean Mosley, 62, died, December 16, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital, in Savannah, GA, after a short illness. She was a native of Tattnall County, having lived in various places and moving back to Toombs County recently. She was a true educator for 36 years, touching the lives of all her students. Her dedication as a teacher and influence on her students, can be seen in many different professions today. Many of her students have become, Doctors, Lawyers, Educators and Business Leaders. She was involved in many organizations including, The Rotary Club of Florida, Jaycees, Georgia Educators Association, and the Telephone Company Pioneers of America. She was an avid reader and focused her attention on taking care of her family. She was entertained with her poodles, schnauzers, and one Chinese Pug. Mrs. Mosley was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Thelma Glisson. Survivors include; her husband of 42-1/2 years, John Fate Mosley of Lyons, two sons; Duane Scott Mosley of Lyons, Sean Ryan Mosley and his wife Jennifer, of Hinesville, one daughter; Tara Stacey Raleigh of Lyons, one sister; Kay Sapp of Collins, two grandchildren; Jeffrey Allen Mosley, and Ashley Brooke Thomas. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday Evening, December 18, 2008, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Jean Mosley will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 19, 2008, at the Howell Dixon Chapel, Murchison Funeral Home, with Will Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be, Avery Sapp, John Tice, Don Mosley, Phillip West, Bobby Ryon, and Randy Thompson.
