CLARKSVILLE -- Mary Jean Alexander, 78, died Tuesday, January 27, 2004, at Westminster Healthcare Center in Clarksville. She was the former Mary Jean Callahan, born July 21, 1925, in Middlesboro, KY, to the late Foster D. and Mary (Yeager) Callahan. She was a retired, self-employed tax accountant, a member of the Church of Christ in Pekin, IN, and a member of the Pilot's Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norval Alexander, and a son, Robert Alexander. She is survived by two sons, Michael Dean Alexander and Jesse Russell Alexander, both of Jeffersonville, IN; two daughters, Diana Ruth Mull and Janetta Sue Thomas, both of Jeffersonville; six granddaughters, Aubrey Alexander, Stephanie Mull, Samantha Mull, Melissa Coyle, Mimi Alexander and Christina; two grandsons, Samuel Mull and Todd Alexander; nine great-grandchildren, Todd Alexander Jr., Tierney Mull, Haley Mull, "Little Bit" Mull, Amy Buskirk, E.J. Knell, Tyler Standafer, Katie Knell and Kristopher Alexander; a half-brother, Daniel Callahan of Borden, IN; and six half-sisters, Flora Childers, of Sellersburg, IN, June Trainor and Janet Wright, both of Borden, IN, Ruth Ann Jackson of Galena, IN Brenda Jacobi of Borden and Gaye Fordice of Rushville, IN. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2004, at Scott Funeral Home, North Chapel, in Jeffersonville, with interment in Martinsburg (IN) Cemetery.
