Mary Gore McGee passed away quietly at her home on Monday, November 28, 2011.Mary descended from early Florida Territory settlers who moved to the East Bay in 1885. She was born in Auburn, Florida in 1923. She graduated from Bay High School, served as a Navy nurse in World War II and lived and worked in New York and Washington, D.C., where she met and married her husband, Frank Lee McGee.Following their retirement from AT&T, Mary and Frank moved to Bay Point to enjoy their golden years together. He preceded her in death in April of 2010. She was a member and past president of the Bay Point Women's Club.At her request, her ashes will be scattered in the East Bay near her family's homestead where she played so happily as a child.
