Mary F. Dougherty, 77, died on April 6, 2011 at JFK Medical Center. Visiting will be on Friday from 3 until 7 p.m. at the Wilfred Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr., Kearny. A Mass is on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Born in Jersey City, N.J., Mary was a lifelong Kearny, N.J., resident. Mary was a nurse who had worked in St. Vincent's and Bellevue in New York City and West Hudson Hospital in Kearny. Sister of Richard J. and Edward T. Dougherty and Elizabeth A. Woods, she is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Karen Rezac, Mark, Charles J., Thomas, Joseph, Laura and Richard Dougherty; Cherylann Vito, Michael, Matthew and Andrew Woods. and their families She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, John and Charles and two nephews, Sean Woods and Kevin Dougherty. In lieu of flowers kindly make a donation to the ASPCA.
