FREEMAN, MARY ELIZABETH 92, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2005, at Baptist Hospital East. She was the former Mary Elizabeth Osting, a bookkeeper for the old Freeman's Gulf Station in Buechel and a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. She was a USO War worker, past president of the state department AMVETS Auxiliary, volunteer for American Red Cross Blood Program, past president of St. Bartholomew PTA and the ladies guild, a member of Senior Resurrection Choir, the church's hospitality ministry and senior volunteer for Norton Suburban Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Freeman; two brothers, Edward and Raymond Osting; and sisters, Arnetta Prior and Thelma Riedling. She is survived by a son, P. Michael Freeman and his wife, Nancy; a daughter, Paulette Adams and her husband, Jerry; five brothers, Lawrence, Melvin, George, Paul and William Osting; a sister, Helen Kast; two grandchildren, Suzanne Vogt and Steven Freeman; and two great-grand-children, Jenna and Ryan Vogt. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2005, at her church, 2040 Buechel Bank Rd., with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday at Ratterman & Sons, 3800 Bardstown Rd. A vigil service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.
