Beloved Mother AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest at her residence on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, Mrs. Mary Dorothy Brown Armstrong , beloved wife of the late Philip Joseph Armstrong. Mrs. Armstrong was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She was the daughter of the late Oliver Fant Brown and Billie Mae Ware Brown. Mrs. Armstrong served as a Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps during WWII in England and was a Hospice volunteer for 20 years with St. Joseph Hospice here in Augusta. She was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. Survivors include her sons; Philip Joseph Armstrong, Jr. of San Francisco, CA, Bernard Andrew Armstrong of College Park, MD, and Joseph Anthony Armstrong of Mt. Rainier, MD, daughters; Mary Armstrong of Augusta, Debra Armstrong and her husband Steve Jeffares of McDonough, GA., Elizabeth Armstrong Nowak and her husband Richard Nowak of New York City; grandchildren: Jessilyn Anne Jeffares, Yvonne Marisa Cook, Anna Janine Cook DeCost and her husband Jason Karl DeCost, John Cain Jeffares, Harper Brown Armstrong, Haley Isabel Nowak and a great-granddaughter: Lila Tara Lee. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 10, 2007, 10:00 AM, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Reverend Timothy Donahue and Reverend Edward Frank concelebrants. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. A Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet will be recited at 9:00 AM preceding the Mass at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
