Mary Connelly Lavelle, 71, Sarasota, died June 24, 2003. She was born Sept. 14, 1931, in Philadelphia and came to Sarasota in 1983 from Fort Lauderdale. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Sarasota. Survivors include her husband, John B.; daughters Susan Connelly of Lafayette, Colo., Ellen Taaffe of Evanston, Ill., and Jane Davis of Seattle; stepdaughters Suzan Ambs of Kissimmee and Theresa of New Orleans; sons Michael Connelly of Tampa, Paul Connelly of Brentwood, Tenn., and Robert Connelly of Needham, Mass.; stepsons Andrew of Phoenix, James of San Diego, and Thomas and Timothy, both of New Orleans; a brother, Richard McEvoy of Malvern, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and eight stepgrandchildren. No visitation is scheduled. A memorial liturgy will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Gulf Gate Chapel, is in charge.
