Mary Catherine Anderson died on Friday, March 23, 2011, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Cassian's Church, 187 Bellevue Ave., Upper Montclair, N.J., on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park St., Montclair, N.J. For directions, please visit moriartyfuneralhome.com Mary was born in Lourdes, Nova Scotia, Canada, and lived most of her life in Upper Montclair as a homemaker. She was a member of St. Vincent's Auxiliary, Montclair Art Museum, Meals on Wheels and the Montclair Garden Club. Mary is survived by her husband of 70 years, Edward F. Anderson; her children, Hugh J. of Verona, N.J.; Mary Anne Maday and her husband, Donald J., of Lakewood, Ohio; Edward J. and his wife, Elaine, of Livingston, and J. Harry and his wife, Susan, of Morris Township, N.J.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mary was the sister of the late Grace Larkin, Agatha Courter and Theodore Mc Neil, and is also survived by her cousin, Margaret O'Connell of Virginia.
