Mary A. Moylan (nee Fitzgerald) of Jersey City, N.J., in her 99th year, passed away at the home of her daughter in Denville, N.J., on Saturday, July 2, 2011. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McLaughlin Funeral Home, 625 Pavonia Ave., Jersey City. Friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Born in St. Lucy's Parish in the "Horseshoe" section of Jersey City, Mary was a lifelong resident. A housewife and mother, she was a member of St. Patrick's Church Rosary Society and a volunteer in the school library. Wife of the late Edward J., Mary is survived by her children, Catherine Ryaness (Eddie), Anastasia Sweet (Daniel), Margaret Weber (Robert), Mary Mullins (Jeremiah), Thomas (Ann Marie), Edward J.D. Jr. (Melody), and Patricia Tanner (Keith). She was the sister of the late Margaret Finn and John Fitzgerald; the loving grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 17. Mary will be missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made at St. Patrick's Church in Mary's memory.
