NORTH GREENBUSH Mary A. Prefore Bell, 87, of Troy died Friday, April 15, 2005 at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness with Alzheimer's Disease. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Margaret Harkins Prefore and wife of the late Marden S. Bell. Mary was educated in the Troy Public School System, was a homemaker and was employed at Tek Hughes Co. in Watervliet for over 20 years prior to her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church and the former St. Jeans Church. She loved and enjoyed being with and caring for her dogs and cats. Survivors include her only child, Ann (Arthur) Seacord Bell of Niskayuna; a sister, Margaret Harris; and a brother, Thomas Prefore, both of Wynantskill; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Bell was the sister of the late Charles Prefore, Leo (Bucky) Prefore, Anne Jones, Isabelle Bessmer, Ellen Lanzetta, Joan O'Brien and Paul Prefore. A very special thanks to all the personnel at Van Rensselaer Manor for their kindness to Mary and a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and certified nursing assistants of Unit B-1 who have provided Mary with a loving home for the last six years. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 8:45 from the John H. Clinton Funeral Home, Washington Park and Third St., Troy and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment, St. Jeans Cemetery.
