Martha Elizabeth Betty Smith - SAVANNAH - Martha Elizabeth Betty Smith, 89, of Savannah, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Savannah, Ga., and was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Anthony Smith, Sr., and Stella Etta Ham Smith; brothers, Walter Anthony Smith, Jr., (Ann), and James Allan Smith, John Daniel Smith, and a nephew, Thomas Daniel Danny Smith. She was a graduate of Armstrong Junior College in Savannah, Ga. She was retired from Great Dane Trailers, after 44 years of service, as an Administrative Assistant, and Payroll Supervisor. She was a member of Delta Chi Sorority, a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women. She is survived by 2 nephews, Walter Allan Smith Rocky of Jefferson, Ga; and Frank Lee Smith (Sherry), of Sugar Hill, Ga; a niece, Helen Elizabeth Betty Sadler (Jim); a sister in law, Annette Smith, and two nieces, Andrea Smith, (David) and Heidi Poore, (Jerry); two nephews, John Daniel Smith, Jr., and Eric C. Smith, and several great nieces and great nephews. Visitation: 4 - 7 p.m. Friday at Fairhaven Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Graveside Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, in Bonaventure Cemetery, with Rev. Enoch Hendry, officiating. Remembrances: Trinity United Methodist Church, 225 West President Street, Savannah, Ga 31401.
